The Broward County Tax Collector states that business tax receipts become delinquent beginning October 1 when they are not renewed on time. If you operate a business, check your receipt and account status with the Tax Collector. The amount due depends on the account and applicable requirements.
County business tax receipts and municipal requirements are separate from registering an LLC with Florida’s Division of Corporations. The county advises applicants to check with their city first, particularly for a home-based business. Confirm the rules for your actual operating address rather than relying on a mailing-city name alone.
Keep the paperwork together.
Organize your entity-registration record, existing receipt, business address, relevant license information and any official renewal notice before asking for assistance. These records help identify which step you need to address. Government offices determine permit, licensing and tax-receipt requirements.
